freeArt ATX a Success

I can't believe how long it has taken me to report back about our freeART day. It doesn't seem like life has been any busier than usual, but apparently it has been.

We had a great time giving out freeArt. One of my boys was a bit reticent, but we had the foresight to enlist Dad's help. He can talk to anyone, so he picked up the slack. Actually, truth be told, we would have been on that street corner much longer if he hadn't come with us. Even in a friendly town like Austin, people don't want to be approached by strangers. The kids were generally more well received, but even they got shrugged off pretty regularly. Persistence paid off and we did manage to get all the art off to good homes. We even got to have a few nice conversations with several people willing to take a moment to find out a bit about National Arts Advocacy day and the project.

Thanks again to all the folks out there who sent us their amazing freeART. If you decide to host your own, let us know. We'll send some art your way.
