Pretty cool, right? It's also pretty big. Five feet long, to be exact. My whole work space is about 12 feet long and jam packed with stuff, so something was going to have to happen. It's been needing to happen for a while now, but there always seem to be more pressing things. At least I find more pressing things! But this bad boy couldn't wait, so the clean up and reorganization commenced.
Most everything happened that first day--lots of de-stashing, reconfiguring and just flat out trashing. I worked a bit more at in on Monday and Tuesday and then lost momentum. At this point I guess the project is about 70% complete. It seems like the last 30% shouldn't really be that hard, but I'm kinda stalled out on it at the moment. I can move around and my most commonly used tools ready to go, so I'm sitting on finishing up.
It seems like every big project goes something like that--hurry up and then hurry up and wait. There must be something important about working on things for a while and then pulling back to let ideas percolate. I'm not sure cleaning and reorganizing a sloppy space really qualifies as needing this, but it sounds better than I'm just feeling lazy and uninspired. I'll let you know when I get around to finishing. Maybe I'll even post a picture of my spiffed up space.
