OMG MOCFA IS GR8

I just found a list of "sites to check" that I put together sometime this past summer. (It's amazing what shows up when you clean up your desk.) Whenever I find these lists it's impossible for me to just throw them away. I have to go through each one to figure out why I bothered to write it down in the first place. This list must have been put together while we were traveling in, to or from Maine because all the sites refer back to there in one way or another. All except mocfa.org. I can't remember even putting together this list, let alone how this museum in San Francisco managed to make it into the mix. But it did. And then I forgot about it for half a year. When I checked the site 20 minutes ago, this is what I found:
An embroidered motherboard. Apparently one of the pieces in the Open Source Embroidery exhibition which "presents artworks that use embroidery, thread, and code as a tool for participatory production and distribution." I was trying to think of two worlds that could be further apart than hand embroidery and open source code, but came up blank. It makes me really wish I was in SF so that I could see this exhibit.
