So the Austin Flea was a great success. Thanks to all of you who stopped in! The Ghost Room is a nice gathering spot--especially for a chilly late fall day. The traffic was pretty steady all day and people seemed in the mood to get some of that holiday shopping out of the way. On top of that, they raised over $600 for the Capital Area Food Bank as well as a significant amount of canned goods. Not too shabby for a small group of people.
Next up--the Cherrywood Art Fair at the Maplewood Elementary School. This show has rapidly become the art show of the season. Over 5000 people streamed through the school halls last year and this year is shaping up to be even bigger. Not only have they expanded to about 80 exhibiting artists, they're continuing with another great musical lineup, silent auction and kids activity area. There are even artist demos scheduled throughout the weekend. It is going to be a big arty beehive of activity. So gather up some friends and come on out to pick up some fabulous, locally made art and accoutrement. Buff Daddy Soap will be joining me again at the booth so be sure to stop by to say hi.
