I have no idea what inspired this yesterday. Maybe it was the rain. We've not had any for about a month. And, we're way behind for the year. Heck, we're way behind for the decade! Of course, we all still have acres of green lawns--but that's a rant for another blog.
I cut out the cloud and had visions of it being all formed and puffy, but I got it to this point and was happy with it, so I stopped. I knew I also wanted a sun and some rain drops. This bright yellow circle was easy, but when I got to the drops I kinda stopped short. I knew I wanted 3 drops, but did I want to cut them out of tin? How would they be attached? Should I use something else? This is what happens when you don't sketch things out first.
I don't use a lot of beads in my work, but do happen to have some around for small things. I had recently gotten some with my last findings order. It was a small bag of "ugly beads" that they give away if your order is over a certain amount (and you remember to ask for them). I got the bag and paid almost no attention to it until last night. My favorite part of this piece is that these 3 raindrops were just waiting among all those ugly beads. Not four. Not one. Three perfect, blue glass beads. I think I'd like to make some more Sun Shower necklaces, but then again, I'm not sure I want to mess with the serendripity of it all.
