New Earring Style

I've been having a great time doming lately. I go through spurts. Sometimes all I want to do is make teeny-tiny rivets. Other times it's fun to make loads of half saucers and then spend hours mixing and matching colors to create my retro saucer earrings. Then there are times where I can't even make it into the studio--like just about the entire past 5 week period. Anyway, right now I'm all jazzed about these simple little basin earrings. They kind of remind me of teensy, colorful bird baths. I don't know why, but I guess that's an insight to how my brain works (or doesn't!). While making them I've been having visions of all sorts of ways to complicate the process, but for now I'm trying hard to just make small, simple, savory things. Here's a selection. . .

I've also completed a new bracelet style that uses this same concept. Of course, it was the first thing I made once I got this basin idea. Why is it that I feel compelled to dive into the most complicated constructions I can come up with? Naturally, I want to make all sorts of other things in this vein, but haven't yet figured out where the time is going to come from. After a brief look around the place, I clearly can not claim house work as the time sink . . .
